The research of the Digital Signal Processing, Multimedia & Optical Communications Lab is mainly focused on information theory, signal theory, and signal and image processing and their applications to both telecommunications systems and remote sensing. In particular the current activity concerns:
Many of these topics are studied in cooperation with national and international research groups. Among them we cite:
Istituto Superiore delle Comunicazioni e Tecnologie dell'Informazione (ISCTI)
Image and Video Processing Laboratory ľ University of California at Santa Barbara, USA
Communications Laboratory - University of Toronto, Canada,
Communications and Remote Sensing Laboratory, UniversitÚ Catholique de Louvain, Belgium
Signal Processing Laboratory, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne
Institute of Signal Processing, Tampere University of Technology, Finland
Multimedia Communication Laboratory - Boston University, Boston, MA, USA
The national cooperation mostly involve the Universities belonging to the CNIT (National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications), and the CIRIAF (Inter University Research Center on Pollution caused by Physical Agents). Collaborations with the research and development centers of major telecommunications companies and operators (ERICSSON, HP, Alcatel Alenia Space, WIND, TIM, Telecom Italy LAB, etc.) are also active.
Details can be found on the individual pages dedicated to each topic.
